STAT 094 PCE Non-Credit STAT Course

Non-credit professional and continuing education (PCE) courses offered to provide condensed coursework to meet the needs of working students and professionals. These courses are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and OPI Renewal Units and are transcripted on the student’s continuing education transcript.

STAT 194 PCE Credit-Bearing STAT Course

Credits: 1-6

Term: (Based on sufficient demand)

Credit-bearing professional and continuing education (PCE) courses offered to provide students and professionals condensed courses for skills upgrades, Professional Certification requirements, and as electives for the Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degrees. These courses may be eligible for financial aid for students pursuing the AA or AS degrees and are transcripted on the student’s undergraduate transcript.

STAT 216 Introduction to Statistics

Credits: 4

Term: (F, S, Su based on sufficient demand)

Prerequisite: M 095 (or M 105 or M 145 or M 120) with a grade of C- or higher, or qualifying placement score within the past 3 years; a grade of 70% or better is required in each module of M 098 to satisfy the prerequisite for STAT 216

Core Class: Mathematics

This course presents concepts, principles, and methods of statistics from two perspectives: descriptive and inferential. Statistical topics include organizing data, sampling, and measures of central tendency, probability, correlation, random variables, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and inference.
