STAT 216 Introduction to Statistics

Term: (F, S, Su based on sufficient demand)
Prerequisite: M 095 (or M 105 or M 145 or M 120) with a grade of C- or higher, or qualifying placement score within the past 5 years; a grade of 70% or better is required in each module of M 098 to satisfy the prerequisite for STAT 216

This course presents concepts, principles, and methods of statistics from two perspectives: descriptive and inferential. Statistical topics include organizing data, sampling, and measures of central tendency, probability, correlation, random variables, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and inference.
